I use Discogs to catalogue my music collection, and it’s great — search a release, add it, done. There’s nothing like that for movies, so I built one. Filmotheque tracks what I own, pulls in the metadata I’d otherwise have to type by hand, and lets me search my own shelf instead of trying to remember it.

What it does

• Track owned movies — add, edit and delete entries in the collection
• Search and filter the collection to find what you’re looking for fast
• Auto-fills posters and metadata from TMDB and Trakt when you add a movie
• Per-user, login-gated access — your collection is yours

How it’s built

React 19 + TypeScript on the frontend, styled with Tailwind CSS v4 and tw-elements.

• Microservices split — this frontend talks to two backend services I also built: filmotheque-back, a Node.js/TypeScript API backed by MongoDB that handles the collection data and the TMDB/Trakt integrations, and opensesame, a standalone authentication service shared across my projects.
• Deploy pipeline — every pull request runs a full verification gate (audit, lint, typecheck, tests, build) in GitHub Actions before it can merge. The full stack — database, auth, API and frontend — also runs from a single docker compose up, seeded with demo data, for a one-command local spin-up.
