Electrocalc

Electricity price calculator, taxes included.

electrocalc

Know what a device actually costs to run, in seconds.

Live app · Source

Most people can read their electricity bill’s total, but have no idea what any single appliance actually costs to run. electrocalc closes that gap: enter a device’s power draw and your price per kWh, and it breaks the cost down across realistic usage windows — so “is it worth leaving this on?” becomes a two-second answer instead of a guess.

What it does

  • Input power (W) and price (€/kWh) to get a cost table spanning half an hour to a full day of use
  • Spanish and English support
  • Light and dark mode

How it’s built

A React 19 + TypeScript app with Material UI, form handling via React Hook Form and Zod validation, and i18next for translations. It’s statically pre-rendered with vite-react-ssg, with dynamic meta tags and structured data for SEO. Every pull request runs a full verification gate in GitHub Actions (lint, typecheck, tests, audit, build); releases deploy to S3 behind CloudFront via a manual pipeline. It also ships as a Docker image for a one-command local run.
